Patty the Reiki Master

Ever clean out the basement or closet and find that little gem that changes your life?  It happened to me one afternoon going through my husband’s stuff while organizing the basement.  I found a small biography on Hawayo Takata, a Reiki master who lived in Hawaii.  I sat on the cement floor and read the whole book cover to cover and then cried.

Hawayo was the first woman to be attuned to reiki and responsible for bringing Reiki to the United States.  She really fought for her attunement.  Apparently back then Reiki was meant for men only.  Hawayo changed all of that.  This woman had guts and didn’t take no for an answer.  I loved her right away. Her story inspired me so deeply that I began to cry.  She opened my eyes to a way I could be a Reiki practitioner.  Before that day Reiki just hung out in my aura on hold. I really didn’t know what to do with it.

Jazzed with inspiration, I popped up off the floor, hastily crammed all the rest of the mess in boxes and shoved it all on shelves and changed gears.  Up in my office I started organizing a Reiki share, and a walk in Reiki clinic in the classroom above our store in Ferndale, Michigan.  Later I started teaching Reiki and started my own legacy of Reiki masters.  Now I’m planning a group Reiki healing circle.  My desire is to offer Reiki in many different ways to people so Reiki is available to all.  No barriers because of money or any other reason.  I’m fully invested in being part of the Reiki movement that makes Reiki a household name and practiced by all.  To find out what Reiki is all about check out my website, http://healingwithpattyshaw.com/healing-services/
