What a wonderful time of the year! It is summer and the weather is beautiful, kids are off school and some fortunates are on vacation. If you are like me however, you are looking out the window observing all this, as life does not stop because the pools are now open. Having to continue to participate in the real world means still having real world problems. We are here to help. In June all Blessed Herbal Pillars will be 10% off.
Caught Patty Shaw red handed! Patty stepped back into her candle making role to get us started on our new container candles. I am so excited that these are coming along so nicely and can't wait for all you to see the finished product! The container candles are going to be an extension to our most popular lines and candles.
What I love about watching this process happen is how very much these products are Jacki and patty's babies. Patty hand pouring the candles and Jacki creating the perfect label. It brings these warm feeling over the factory when we are rolling out something new and I think everyone is really going to enjoy them!
I got a talking to today and I was finally mature enough to listen this time. Jacki and I were making plans as we always do and she stopped mid sentence to tell me what it was like to be my sister and business partner.
She said I've been there for her and have supported every idea she's had without question and taught her that there really are trustworthy people in her life (meaning me). What was really pissing her off is that I wouldn't let her be that kind of sister to me. I was too independent, a virtual island. I was robbing her of the opportunity to give to me and that was hurting her feelings.
Since I am pretty much as she says, I walked out of the room. I didn't know what to say. Then it came to me. I walked back into the office and said thank you.
We all have to give and receive. If we don't it causes an imbalance within us and that causes imbalances in others. Message received Jacki and I accept.
I was digging through boxes of pictures this morning for something to post for Throwback Thursday #tbt and had trouble finding a candid photo that I was in. I thought that maybe someone started organizing the pictures amd there would be a treasure of childhood Jacki pictures in a envelope deep within the pile of 5 boxes. I stopped looking after 2 boxes because it was time for work and Facebook should never interfere with work!
I was excited to get to my Coventry Creations office because today was the day I got my new telephoto lens! I am taking pictures at the 2014 Ferndale Pride event and the lens is exactly what the doctor ordered. Carefully I unwrapped my new prize and started to play and think about the missing pictures from my childhood when a realization hit me. I was behind the camera as often as in front of it as a child. I am the reason there are so many out of focus, poorly lit, and jiggly pictures. Holding my camera with its new lens in my hand reminded me of how much my father loved to take pictures and how I would sneak his camera and snap off a few random amature shots.
Photography has come in and out of my life and has been my passport in, my protection against and an expression of creativity I have not acknowledged until this year. At times of uncomforable disconnect, taking pictures has been my way of staying engaged and safe at the same time.

Yes we do design our own labels at Coventry and honestly I often run out of ideas! This time I found an inspirational piece, build a label to match and then let the evolution begin.
My biggest challenge was that the labels for our new container candles have a unique application very different from our pillar candles. I wanted a slightly different feel that kept in line with our current brand. No... I don't ask much of myself.
This evolution isn't over but the process is fun....

I have been participating in yoga classes for about 6 weeks now and there is a saying that each teacher repeats... "Leaving your troubles and stress on the mat and walk away a changed person".
When I first heard that I challenged myself to do so, to let each class open me up just a bit more to the possibility of change. Like meditation it works. I feel as I struggle in the simplest of yoga postures that I am squeezing out and clearing the resistance I have to embracing my divine self. I can feel the negative patches of energy be replaced and most importantly the stress is dissipating a little more each time I step back onto the mat.
It is finally Spring! For me, Spring brings the need for new beginnings more than any time in the year. The first thing I want to do is open the windows of my stuffy house and welcome in a fresh new start. One of the best ways to really get a fresh, clean start would be to burn one of our World Magic Sacred White Sage Pillars In May, all World Magic Pillars will be 10% off! So grab a Ganesh to burn all those obstacles away and Sweet Grass pillar to help reduce your stress from this harsh and long winter.
What happens to the overachieving redhead when she has a few hours unscheduled time? She finds trouble in the form of creativity, free thinking, and relaxation.
This is a dangerous thing in the Coventry world...
I am less driven by my ego when I can be creative and we all know that ego free creativity can lead to stress free decision making.
I can find new solutions to old issues that are less disruptive to my world as a whole. We all know that is dangerous because I may jusy let do of micromanaging my outer and inner worlds.
When is am not running at 110% I may just accidentally have fun. We all know what happens if we let fun in.... we might just get happy and that stuff is contagious.
I sneeze happiness in your direction

This fountain is the view from my hotel room amd it was such a beautiful day I had to investigate.
Its not often I get HOURS of free time to myself with no deadlines, todo lists or the needs of other to take into consideration.
I am really glad I picked up the pedicure kit at the airport! Aunt Jackis toes are getting some loving tonight!
Ok, all ypu folks that teased me aboit going to Nebraska can zip it. Omaha is a lovely, lovely city filled with warm and friendly people.
I am a Michigan girl where we smile, nod and often greet the people in our vicinity. Omaha meets that mid-west hospitality with a dose of good old fashioned red meat!
